Vertical Axis Wind Turbine:
My first VAWT made from a 23" bicycle wheel without the rubber tire. Six 1X4 boards cut to 3'3".
Three 5 gallon buckets cut in half to get 6 wind scoops (blades). Screws to put it all together.
Plans made with sketchup 7. You can download plans Here as a zip file. [ Right click, Save Link As] You will need google sketchup 7 which is free, to view the plan. Go Here to download sketchup. The plan I have here also has most of the dimensions showing when you open the file in sketchup. You may need to modify your VAWT as your requirements may vary.
Tools I used: Drill and drill bits. Jigsaw with wood cutting blade. Screw driver bit for drill. Measuring tape. Pencil/Pen. Square. Safety goggles. Always protect your eyes and practice safety!

I am NOT a global warmist or climate change alarmist freak. I am sick of forking too much money over to power companies. Saving the green that goes in my wallet is what motivates me, not Cap and Trade type scams and schemes.
We can all vastly reduce our reliance on the power grid through alternative energy such as wind, solar, and other methods. It's time to use our knowledge for ourselves, and help each other out.
