The Samsung S630.
This is a cheap camera with very few frills. However I like to push the limits and see what performance I can get out of everything. The S630 takes beginner type star imagery on night mode or manual mode with the ISO set at 400 and 8 second exposures. Eight seconds is the longest exposure time for this camera.
When taking star images at night, make sure the camera is mounted on a tripod and use the 10 second delay timer to help assure there is no movement after you push the shutter button.
The images results can show the major constellations, such as Orion, Leo, Cassiopeia, and others. If you are very lucky, this camera can also record meteors, although trying to catch a meteor even during a meteor shower will require hundreds of 8 second exposures. Even then, you may not catch a meteor.
